Samsung is putting USDC transfers inside the phone wallet. Starting in the last week of October, eligible US Galaxy users can send USDC on Solana from Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay. That covers about 82 million US devices. Fiat on- and off-ramps sit in the wallet, not in a separate crypto app. Coinbase Prime will custody the USDC. Bastion is the licensed custodian partner. Sui infrastructure is also in the stack. Samsung says it will not charge a fee on the crypto transfers. Recipient wallets still might. Users can also send to bank accounts in more than 60 countries, paid out in local currency. Fees on that path vary. This follows last year’s deal that let Galaxy users fund Coinbase with Samsung Pay. More countries are planned, if local rules allow. Stablecoins are moving from a crypto app to the default wallet on the phone.
